The coffee morning (rescheduled from 8th August) will take place between 10am and 12 Noon this Saturday and will be followed by a Village BBQ, and a chance to say ‘Farewell’ to Anna and Chris Corbett, who will be leaving the village shortly after the end of August.
Chris and Anna have been residents in the village for over 10 years and taken a full part in village life throughout that period. Anna has been an important member of the ReadingRoom committee in various rolls and, more recently a Parish Councillor involved in many aspects of local affairs. It has been calculated that Anna has attended over 100 meetings of the ReadingRoom – a feat of almost unimaginable human endurance. I’m sure that all residents, past and present, wish Anna and Chris well – and will want to give them a good send off.
If you can make it during the afternoon, arrangements are simple. Just bring your own food (and bottles of refreshment, if desired) and we’ll have volunteers on hand to BBQ to perfection.
The forecast is – like much of the summer so far – cool but sunny weather so, most likely, we’ll be gathering on the green to consume the feast, so you may like to bring along table & chairs for additional comfort. But tables and chairs will be available for use in the hall for those so inclined.
Even if you’ve other commitments, your welcome to drop in at any point to express your personal good wishes.
We look forward to seeing as many as are able to make it.
