Thank you to Hilly and Moira for running another successful and enjoyable event. The Book sale was also profitable.
Final Afternoon Tea for the year Sunday 27th September 2015
Thank you to Hilly and helpers for running our final Afternoon Tea for the year. It was a success. Following a discussion on events it was agreed that more help is needed from residents. To date, Hilly and family members have strived to ensure that our events take place regularly. It would be unfair to assume that this responsibility fall to the same people, all the time. Please offer your support. Afternoon Tea resumes in April 2016. Coffee mornings run every second Saturday monthly. Help is always needed to set up the Reading Room prior to any event along with serving and welcoming visitors to our Village Hall. A calendar of proposed dates will be added to the website shortly. We thank all our superb cake bakers and supporters of the Reading Room, your help and generosity is valued by all.
Village Signage and Safety
Following concerns raised by residents regarding motorists continuing to speed and drive carelessly through the Village it was agreed that safety signs be organised and erected at suitable locations in the Village to raise awareness.
Unfortunately, we have had reports of many incidents where residents and visitors have experienced motorists driving without due care, verbally abusing other motorists and walkers, damage to grass verges and private lawns and our village pots. This is not acceptable behaviour. Jonny agreed to contact the Local Police to obtain advice on this matter. Martina agreed to purchase suitable reflective signage and Stuart agreed to erect all signs/posts. This item to be raised at the Parish Council meeting. We will keep all residents informed.
