There will be a Coffee Morning and Book Sale on Saturday 8 March from 10 until 12. Any cakes would be very welcome. Please tell Hilly if you can bring a cake and leave it in the Reading Room on Saturday morning.
On Tuesday 18 March at 7pm we will have the Annual General Meeting. There will be a short report on the year’s activities, and the annual accounts will be presented.
We hope then to have volunteers who will act as Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer for the coming year. They will be able to continue looking after the Reading Room, bringing new ideas and planning how we will celebrate the Tour de France.
Parish Council
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service has provided the village with our own Defibrillator. It will be mounted outside the Reading Room. Following a 999 call, the rescuer will be given the number code to access the device. Instructions will then be given over the phone. Training can also be given to us if requested, in advance.
The cabinet will have to be fixed, and a cable run through the wall with a 3 pin plug on the end. This will run a small heat unit costing less than £3 per year to run.
Is there anyone who would volunteer to undertake this job? Could
they contact Anna Corbett at 01677450498 or email anna.corbett2@gmail.com, who can give more detailed instructions.
