Tour de France – July 5
As you know ! the tour is bringing thousands of visitors to the area, to enjoy a memorable day.
We are going to make the Mill Field opposite Village Farm available to visitors from 5.30am until 8pm. Some may arrive very early to avoid the traffic and decide where to stand to watch the race. We will welcome them with breakfast in the Reading Room from 6am to 10 am, and welcome them back for tea from 4pm to 7pm. They may stay until then to wait for the traffic to clear a bit, and sit on the Green.
Help is welcome with providing refreshments and acting as stewards for the car park. We can cover the very early times, but more help is needed.
Please contact Becky Duff for the car park and Hilda Dobson for the refreshments
[If you’d like more information on the event there are several briefings organised by Welcome to Yorkshire for residents and businesses. There’s also information on a special Facebook Page set up by Richmondshire who also have a Twitter Feed at @LeTourRDC ]
