COVID-19 – Self Isolation

  1. I want to reassure you all that the community is here to help us get through this pandemic. It is a ‘rotten’ period in our lives but we will get through it if we all obey the rules.
  2. Self-Isolation.
    1. There has been much criticism concerning rules and regulations but there is no confusion as to when you must by LAW self-isolate.
      1. If you test positive you must self-isolate for 10 days.
      2. If you are traced and told to self-isolate you must do so for 14 days.
    2. Failure to follow this regulation can result in a fine of £10,000. More importantly your irresponsibility can put so many others at mortal risk.
  3. Constable Burton Volunteer Support Group.
    1. In our community we have a wonderful group of volunteers who will look after you if you do need to self-isolate. They will do your shopping for you, pick up prescriptions and run necessary errands for you. All you have to do is pick up the phone.
    2. The group will also ensure that during your self-isolation you will not be left totally alone. Regular contact will be made with you either by phone or at a distance to make sure that you are alright and not in need of medical assistance.
    3. Contact Details. To ensure you all have the current contact details for the support group has been distributed. It is also on this web site.
  4. Take Care of Yourselves.  Whatever anyone else does, do look after yourselves. The Government advice is:
    1. Wash hands regularly.
    2. Use face covering in enclosed spaces.
    3. Make space by staying at least 2 metres apart (1 metre with face covering).
  5. Conclusion. We are all in this together. Do not suffer alone. By following these simple rules we will get through this and ‘the sun will shine again’.
