Christmas 2021

On Saturday 18th December, Santa came to Constable Burton! While we were supping delicious mulled wine, tucking into mince pies and munching on hot roasted chestnuts Santa was already on his way.

The afternoon was full of festive spirit, as was Santa, and very much enjoyed by those who attended. Due to covid, and possibly the inclement weather, numbers were down this year but this did not dampen the enjoyment of the event.

The huge success was without doubt Santa’s visit. The revised programme took him to children’s doors, clanging his bell, delivering gifts and bringing the magic of Christmas to all.An enormous thank you goes to those who organised this delightful event and to our sponsors’ at the Co-op and Campbells of Leyburn.

However, the biggest thankyou must go to Santa. I for one will never grow up!From the Reading Room Committee we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and all the best for 2022.

Stay safe!

Yours ever,

GeorgeMajor (Retd) George F Tomlin MBE
